Frequently asked questions

Getting started

  • What is MyProptimizer?

MyProptimizer helps American homeowners lower their property tax bill. We pull real assessor data, compare your value to recent comparable properties, and hand you a ready-to-file appeal packet ($39) built for your county.

  • How do I know if my property is over-assessed?

Run our free 5-minute assessment. We'll surface your appraised value, the median peer value, and an honest best/likely/worst-case scenario. No payment to see the result.

  • What counties do you serve?

DIY packet ($39): available in a growing list of states and counties. Enter your address and we'll instantly tell you whether yours is covered — and you'll never hit a dead end.

  • What languages do you support?

English, 한국어, हिन्दी, 中文, Español, Tiếng Việt. The diagnosis flow, dashboard, and Service Agreement are all available in each.

Pricing & refunds

  • Are there hidden fees?

No. The $39 DIY packet is one-time, all-inclusive. No subscriptions, no upsells, no surprise charges.

  • Can I get a refund on the DIY packet?

Yes — a full refund within 7 days of purchase, as long as you haven't downloaded the Evidence file yet. Downloading it (or the 7 days elapsing) closes the window, since it's a digital product. You can request it any time from your dashboard.

  • Why don't you auto-renew?

Many appeal services auto-charge a yearly subscription without an explicit re-opt-in. We don't. You authorize each year. Your card is never charged for a year you didn't approve.

  • When is Tier 2 (Full Service) available?

Not yet — Full Service (we file for you) is in preparation and can't be purchased today. When it opens we'll announce it here first. Right now every covered state gets the $39 DIY packet: we prepare everything, you file.

The process

  • How long does the appeal take?

Your DIY packet is ready to download immediately after purchase. Appeal deadlines vary by state and county — your packet shows your county's deadline, but our dates are estimates and you are solely responsible for confirming and meeting the exact date on your notice and with your county.

  • What documents do I need?

Your appraisal account number (sometimes called APN), the current appraised value (on your annual notice), and the property's basic specs (square footage, year built). The packet walks you through the rest.

Privacy & security

  • Is my data safe?

Yes. Card data is stored only by Stripe under PCI compliance — it never reaches our servers. We never store the property owner name from public records. See our Privacy Policy for details.

  • Do you store property-owner information from public records?

No. Our estimates are built from public county assessor and state records across the jurisdictions we cover (HCAD's bulk file for Harris County, TX is one of them). Where those files contain owner names or mailing addresses, our data pipeline parses past those fields and never writes them to our database.
